Portrait Commission Procedure

Price Determination. The pricing is determined by
many factors, including the following:
---Size of figure (head, head & shoulders,
half-size or three-quarters with or without
hands, full-figure);
---Background (Simple abstract to complex detail);
---Extras (objects inlcuded such as toys or pets);
---And, number of figures (10-20% less for each
additional figure).
Completion time. A finished portrait can take 40
to 80 hours of labor and be delivered in 3 to 24
months after the initial sitting.
Sittings. At the client site, the initial sitting
can take up to three hours for photographing and/
or sketching the subject(s). Based on the initial
photos, a set of three potential concepts will be
proposed. A small 8x10 mock-up may be produced
for larger portraits. There also may be a final
sitting up to three hours for any adjustments.
Material. Materials (paints and canvas/supports)
are inlcuded with the pricing. Expenses such as
traveling, shipping, and framing are extra.
Assistance with framing/purchasing will be provided
if necessary.
Payments. A non-refundable retainer of 40% is
required at the first sitting or before the painting is started
and the final payment, including extras, is due at delivery.
Satisfaction. For every piece of art Sandra creates,
she will put her best effort into it.
